Happy New Year 2021!
With the unprecedented times and challenges we all faced in 2020,
we have been tirelessly working behind the scenes in keeping our creative minds and bodies active throughout this difficult time.
Thanks to the generous efforts of our teachers and students,
we have been able to continue to offer online classes and many have engaged in virtual brain storming sessions with each other for future projects.
We sincerely hope these ideas come to fruition at some point in the future.
We aim to resume our onsite classes as soon as circumstances allow us to do.
We look forward to recruiting new students in 2021 and would be very grateful to you all to spread the word round to your networks.
Please contact our resident dance teacher Harsha Amin on 07857141727 for all dance classes. We cater for all age groups.
Our volunteers have always been our strength and throughout the difficult year, they have joined forces with other community groups in helping so many vulnerable people in the community. Team Subrang joined the Sewaday campaign throughout the year and participated in the ‘Hamper project’ (reaching out to more than 450 vulnerable families) and Christmas Shoe box appeal (reaching out to more than 150 families), food for homeless people and also delivering meals to elderly and vulnerable community members. We are very grateful for the generosity and efforts of all our volunteers in making this possible. We hope to continue with this community work.
With the news of the new vaccine roll out, we are hopeful that our exciting projects can take place now in 2021. We are delighted to inform you about our well awaited forthcoming heritage project ‘Roots and Changes – Gujarati influences’ in collaboration with Brent Museum and Archives. The multi dimensional exhibition and event series is scheduled to launch on 13th March – 22nd August. See below link.
Even if there are some restrictions due to the COVID crisis, we will follow Public Health England’s guidelines and look forward to many on site and online events We welcome you all to participate in this very exciting project. Throughout the lockdown, our creative team has been working with many community groups in Brent in preparation for this exhibition.
Our long awaited ‘Peace and Harmony’ project with London Mozart Players too is scheduled for 9th May 2021. We are very excited about this new collaboration of Indian musicians / dancers with western musicians. A true celebration of ‘Peace and Harmony’!
